Malvern Rifle Club meets for a shoot every Saturday from the weekend prior to Labour Weekend until the last Saturday in April with shooting commencing at 1.30pm. The range is on local farmland in the Malvern District west of Christchurch. (Map here) It has 4 targets and covers 5 distances 300 yds back to 900 yds. Our clubhouse is the Coalgate Tavern and members enjoy a beer and refreshments there after shooting finishes for the day. Club gear is available for new members use free of charge, the only cost is ammunition, which can be purchased on the day. At Malvern you can shoot both Target Rifle using a sling to support the rifle and open sights, and F Class where a scope is used for sighting, and a rest is used to hold up the rifle. The club has a relaxed manner yet competitive outlook. Club members usually enjoy afternoon tea and a chat after the first range of the day. All shooting is conducted under NRANZ rules |
